The world's most frustrating dessert.
I wouldn't have ordered it if I'd known that Red Robin freezes their mud pie in carbonite before serving.Trying to eat this thing with a spoon was like chipping granite with a toothbrush. I need a Sawzall. Or maybe that wacky Twin Blade my buddy at work got.
That ice cream is STIFF.

New house! New house!
First of all, I'd like to say a big THANK YOU! to whichever neighbor has the open wifi access point. Cable modem goes in on Wednesday, but at least we won't be without connectivity until then.
Pretty exciting! Barb and I got keys on Friday to our beautiful new house. We're now getting all our junk moved over, which is going to be a full-time job for the next, well, forever.
Maggie, our little calico, winds up being quite the escape artist. Yesterday afternoon, when I was working on the front door, she slipped past me and started trotting up the street. She ran into my neighbor's yard. I chased her, shaking hands quickly with said neighbor, and said "My cat went that-a-way!" (into her back yard).
Barb came over, and neighbor lady got the hose to chase Maggie out from under the deck. That worked pretty good. Barb grabbed her and took her back inside.
Fast forward two hours. We brought over the bed, and locked the kitties in the upstairs bedroom/bathroom while we brought it in. Well, they managed to get the door open (faulty doorknob) and wandered into the back yard. Biscuit was chilling on the deck, and went back inside as we walked around the corner. Maggie was pretty freaked out, and started tearing around the backyard as we tried to shoo her towards the house.
Unfortunately, the house was in the same direction as the neighbor's yard. Separated by an eight foot fence. That she climbed, FAST. I've NEVER seen that cat move so fast.
So there she is, under the neighbor's deck again. Neighbor is gone, so I trespass on over there and (you guessed it) got the hose. Barb had Maggie's crate, and I coaxed her from under the deck with the water spray, but she managed a head-fake around Barb and went up the fence again. Barb (fortunately!) managed to grab her tail and held on tight until I could get over there and get her scruff. Poor thing was terrified. We did get her back inside, and she jumped immediately into her hat box and glowered at us for hours.
All was forgiven when she came to sleep on our pillows last night.
Oh yeah, and by the way? We got engaged. Yay!

New iPod! Yay!
I've been sad, but now...there is joy in the world. About a month ago, I broke my iPod by whacking it into a desk while showing somebody how to push the "send" button on an email. I was more than a bit irked, because I had been on my way home when called back to this person's desk. I was literally in the elevator, but I decided to be Good Support Guy and help this person out.And then, by raw clumsiness, I broke my toy. Lame.
Fast forward. I took my broken toy to the local Apple Genius Bar, and told my tale of woe. The Genius took pity on me, filled out some paperwork, took my phone number, and told me they'd call when the replacement came in.
Which happened this Sunday morning. Either Apple has figured out matter transmission, or they got a Sunday delivery on a warranty replacement. Wow. Holy superb customer service, Batman.
One happy customer, me.
